Ramesses II


Abu Simbel contains the pronaos, a 18 depth metres remarkable room, whose ceiling, decorated with vultures with the spread wings and royal legends, rests on 8 Osiris-style pillars. Their sides are engraved scenes of offerings. On the walls are held the various phases of the battle of Qadesh, opponent Ramesses II against Hittites.
